Who can use Back9Ops
Back9Ops is designed for:
- Golf courses and clubhouses
- League organizers and tournament directors
- Golf clubs and associations
- Individual golfers participating in organized events
You must be at least 13 years old to use the platform. If you're under 18, your parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.
Your account and data accuracy
When you register or are added to an event, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information: All names, email addresses, handicaps, and event details must be true and complete
- Keep it updated: You're responsible for maintaining current information
- Guard your login: If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your password confidential
- Notify us of problems: If you notice unauthorized access or data errors, contact us immediately
We reserve the right to disable accounts that provide false or misleading information.
How the platform works
Back9Ops helps you:
- Register players for events and leagues
- Create and manage pairings
- Track scores and generate leaderboards
- Communicate with players via email notifications
Email notifications are essential to the service. By using Back9Ops, you consent to receiving transactional emails about your account and events, including verification, registration confirmations, pairings, tee times, score updates, and other event-critical information. Users may opt out of non-essential product updates. See the Email Policy for details.
What you're responsible for
As a user, you agree not to:
- Submit false or misleading information about yourself or others
- Use the platform to harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or other accounts
- Reverse-engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code
- Use the platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any law
- Sell, transfer, or license your account to anyone else
- Spam, send phishing emails, or distribute malware
- Overload or "attack" the platform with automated requests
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
Intellectual property
Back9Ops and all of its content—design, features, functionality, code, text, graphics—are owned by Back9Ops and protected by copyright law.
You may use the platform for its intended purpose (organizing golf events), but you may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the software without permission
- Extract data in bulk for competing products
- Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
Event data you create (scores, pairings, registrations) belongs to you and your organization.
Third-party services
Back9Ops uses third-party services to run the platform, including:
- AWS (cloud hosting): Your data is stored securely on AWS infrastructure
- Amazon SES (email delivery): Transactional emails are sent through Amazon SES
By using Back9Ops, you acknowledge that these services may access your data as needed to provide the service. We do not control their security practices, but we select providers with strong privacy and security standards.
Service availability and uptime
We work hard to keep Back9Ops running, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime.
- We'll do our best to notify you of planned maintenance
- We maintain backups of your data
- In the event of a critical outage, we'll work to restore service as quickly as possible
We're not liable for any direct or indirect losses due to service interruptions. If a critical issue affects your event, contact us immediately at sales@back9ops.com.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
- Back9Ops is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We're not liable for lost data, lost profits, or indirect damages
- Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (or $100, whichever is less)
- We're not responsible for third-party services or user content
This doesn't exclude liability for fraud, gross negligence, or things we can't exclude by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform.
Your continued use of Back9Ops means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree to a change, you can delete your account and stop using the service.
Termination
We may suspend or delete your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in illegal activity
- Abuse the platform or other users
- Don't use the account for 24 months (we may delete inactive accounts)
You can delete your account at any time. We'll remove your data within 30 days, except where required to retain for legal compliance.
Dispute resolution
If you have a dispute with Back9Ops:
- Email us at sales@back9ops.com with a detailed description of the issue
- We'll respond within 7 business days and try to resolve it
- If we can't reach agreement, you may pursue further action according to applicable law
